Our client is seeking a General Manager to oversee and manage the overall Food and Beverage operations. The restaurant is situated on a Historical Wine Estate in the prestigious Stellenbosch area.

The ideal individual has a solid work ethic, strong operational and management skill-set, excellent wine knowledge, strong financial acumen, able to perform under pressure, with experience in marketing and promotions.

Position Requirements:

  • Formal Hospitality and Wine qualification will be advantageous
  • Experience in sales and marketing 
  • Strong financial acumen
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Ability to lead and manage a team of people effectively
  • Strong management skills
  • Guest and service orientated
  • Resourceful and an exceptional eye for detail  
  • Valid driver’s license and own vehicle

Key Accountabilities:

  • Operational management to include restaurant and wine sales operations, inventory conrol, payroll, licencing, managing SOP’s
  • Costs to include Food & Beverage cost, monitor staff performance, budget control, operational cost
  • Reports to include budgets and daily and monthly reporting
  • Service to incluce food and beverage operations, monitor and manage guest feedback, ensure wine service and targets are met
  • Staff to include performance appraisals, training, disciplining, recruiting
  • Suppliers liaison and price negotiations
  • Sales and Marketing to include promotion of the winery and brand, working closely with the marketing team, grow social media footprint, consult with clients regarding special events, arrange wine events and work clsoly with the wine maker to promote sales

Remuneration:  R25 000 – R27 000 pm
