A small wine business in Stellenbosch requires administrative and bookkeeping support. This is a fulltime permanent position. Looking for someone with the required motivation, experience and qualifications who is eager to learn and grow with the business.

Salary: Remuneration is competitive and will be in line with your level of experience.

Key responsibilities: 

  • Daily bookkeeping of a 4 entities.
  • Maintain financial records including completing general journal entries, supplier and customer invoicing
  • Manage creditors and debtors
  • Completing the bank reconciliation 
  • Capture statutory returns such as PAYE, UIF, SDL and the submission of EMP 201 and e-filing to SARS as well as the bi-annual PAYE reconciliation submission to SARS
  • The preparation of accurate management reports
  • Reconciling inter-company loan accounts
  • Reconciliation of VAT and completing VAT Returns
  • Confident using Pastel Accounting, Xero Accounting software and Excel. Experience in using WordPress and Mailchimp
  • Stock control of inventory and dry goods stock at the various warehouses as well as ordering dry good stock
  • Managing database, liaising with clients regarding allocations and sales.
  • Arranging logistics for all local and export orders.
  • Process all export and local invoices.
  • Updating website, compiling newsletters tasting notes and other marketing material
  • Other general office requirements 
  • General Assistant to the Director/Owners of the business’
  • Eager to learn and help grow a fledgling business

Qualifications: 

  • Degree/diploma with 2 years working experience.
  • Experience in the Wine Industry
  • Proven bookkeeping experience and ability to accurately calculate, post and manage accounting figures and financial records up to trial balance
  • Excellent communication in both English and Afrikaans. As well as excellent writing and admin skills
  • Confident using Pastel Accounting, Xero Accounting software and Excel. Experience in using WordPress and Mailchimp
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail, organised and good at planning
  • Qualification in and/or extensive experience in bookkeeping.
  • Be able to interact with clients in a friendly and professional manner.
