Requirements:

  • Excellent communication skills ( English & Afrikaans)
  • Previous experience in a production/wine environment
  • Work well under pressure and in a team environment
  • Own transport
  • Grade 12 & Diploma in Production / Supply Chain Management
  • At least 3 years’ experience , with 1 year being in a supervisory capacity
  • SAWIS Experience essential
  • Computer literate (MS Outlook, Word, Excel, NAV)
  • Accuracy & numerical skills
  • Organised
  • Be able to identify problems in relation to machinery and manage solutions

Duties:

  • Production Scheduling

Assists with weekly production program by organizing change over and discusses with machine operators and production staff.

Checks with QC if Bulk wine/Dosage is ready in tank

  • Maintenance

Provides input in determining the schedule for preventative maintenance.

Ensures that maintenance records for forklifts and all other production equipment are kept up to date and that they are serviced regularly.

Identifies maintenance cases and ensures maintenance is carried out after approval from Production manager.

Ensures cooling is running on correct temperature of all warehouses. 

  • Quality assurance and loss control

Issues all dry goods and Unl wine as per specification.

Counts and checks all dry goods and unl returned after production. Explain losses on production run. Returns goods not used, completes information and records waste. Sign production run off

Ensures sterilization of machine is followed according to prescribed procedures.  Checks final packaging and bottling process.

Check dosage filling, filling heights, cap seals, labeling position and all packaging of bottles on production line according to specification.

Ensures that bottling area is sterile and clean using the cleaning roster.  Schedules cleaning program and allocates workers to areas for cleaning (daily, weekly and monthly).

Checks temperature of warehouses, wine, nitrogen, compressed air and water pressure on relevant equipment.

Checks with quality control / laboratory whether wine/dosage is ready.  Calls QC when a product will be started on the line

Ensures that the production line runs efficiently.

  • Safety & Environment Management

Conducts periodic inspections of equipment according to safety standards.

Educates operators on the safe usage of equipment.

Ensures that all equipment is maintained and labeled.

Ensures all new personnel are trained on HSE standards and emergency plan.

Ensures water is used resourcefully.

Ensures that where possibly waste material is recycled.

Ensures that ISO1400 & HACCP is implemented and all records are updated regularly.

  • Administration/General

Checks and orders consumables needed for production from suppliers.

Obtain quotes from suppliers

Checks order when delivered, ensures delivery notes are correct and correlates with PO

Completes production run with all relevant usage and waste

Manages bottling line staff and identifies training needs and trains where needed.

Provides input into the budget for the production department.

Salary: Market Related
