Import Administrator (including logistics, costings & creditor management)

CDS Group, a supplier of capital equipment, consumable items & technical services to predominantly the Food & Beverage industry, wishes to appoint a suitably qualified and experienced administrator.  The administrator will be responsible for import logistics, cost accounting of imported items and creditor management. Reporting will be directly to the Financial/Administrative manager.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

• Minimum qualification: Grade 12 with Accountancy or N4 (Financial accounting)
• Preferred qualification: N5/6 Financial/cost accounting
• Experience: 3 – 5 years general administration (preferably import logistics, creditors & cost accounting)
• Whilst not required, prior experience in the wine industry will be deemed advantageous  

DUTIES

General Administration duties

• Generate, place and receive foreign purchase orders
• Maintenance of import register
• Consult with management for purchasing of forward cover (imports)
• Consult with QC managers to claim from suppliers as needed
• Administrative assistance to Technical department administrator ‘’as needed’’
• Issue of delivery notes and logistics regarding delivery of barrels

Creditor management duties

• Processing of local and foreign suppliers

Cost accounting duties

• Request detailed quotations from suppliers and freight forwarders
• Confirm product details, pricing, packaging size/weight & lead times with suppliers
• Arrange timely and cost-effective shipping of containers
• Liaise with freight forwarder to estimate landed cost (inclusive of currency conversions, inland transport, freight, customs clearing, agency fees, insurance, local delivery & other transactional costs) whilst awaiting delivery.  
• Calculate landed cost on arrival by affording applicable freight & associated costs to EXW cost for each item
• Add provided margins to determine suggested sales price
