Assistant Farm Manager

Our client in Darling is looking to employ an Assistant Farm Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the farming operations.

Duties and Responsibilities include; but not limited to:

Management of all production functions: Irrigation, fertilization, spraying, pruning, and harvesting.
Farm Infrastructure: Maintenance management on farm equipment such as tractors, tools, vehicles etc.
Personnel management: Ensure discipline, performance and productivity of employees are managed effectively.
Administration/planning: Record keeping and compilation of production reports. Management of the production budget. Management of operating costs. Quality management and all other duties relevant to the position.

Experience & Characteristics required for this role:

Enthusiastic, passionate
Good observational and diagnostics skills
Excellent communication and ability to deliver clear and concise instructions.
Must be self-motivated, and able to work independently.
Good interpersonal skills

Minimum requirements: Relevant degree or diploma
Experience required:  1- 2 years’ experience in a similar position
Start date: As soon as possible
Location: Darling, Western Cape
Working conditions: The conditions will include working outdoors, regular evening and weekend work. Normal working hours will be based on operational requirements of the business.
Job Type: Full Time; Permanent with a 3-month probation period
Package: Negotiable based on experience and expertise
