Our client between Paarl and Stellenbosch is looking for a Wine Tasting Centre manager.
As the Wine Tasting Centre Manager, you will be entrusted with overseeing all facets of the tasting centre operations, managing a team of wine stewards and ensuring an outstanding experience for our valued visitors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Guest Experience: Create a welcoming and hospitable environment to ensure an exceptional wine-tasting experience for all guests.
- Wine Education: Share your knowledge of our wines, the winemaking process, and the farm to enhance visitor enjoyment.
- Team Leadership: Lead, train, and motivate a team of tasting room staff (currently a team of 4 wine stewards) to consistently deliver outstanding customer service.
- Inventory Management: Maintain wine inventory, monitor stock levels, keep shrinkage and losses to minimum and oversee merchandising within the tasting centre. We use iKentoo Lightspeed for our POS and stock management.
- Event Coordination: Plan and execute special events, including wine tastings, tours, and private functions.
- Sales Growth: Actively promote wine sales, wine club memberships, and merchandise, consistently achieving or exceeding sales targets and managing online sales via our website store.
- Marketing Collaboration: Collaborate with marketing teams to promote the wine-tasting centre through various channels.
- Budget Oversight: Manage expenses effectively to meet budgetary objectives.
- Reporting: Generate sales, stock and shrinkage reports on tasting room performance and gather visitor feedback.
- Enquirers: Effectively communicate with tour operators, manage reservations and provide feedback to any customer enquiries.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a wine tasting room or hospitality management role.
- A profound passion for wine and a thirst for ongoing wine knowledge.
- Exceptional customer service skills and the ability to cultivate a warm and inviting atmosphere.
- Strong leadership abilities and experience in team management.
- Keen attention to detail and solid organisational capabilities.
- Flexibility to work weekends and holidays as needed.
- Computer literate with the ability to effectively communicate via email as well as operate the POS back-office system (Lightspeed).
