De Toren Private Cellar currently has a vacancy for a Customer Relationship & Events Manager (hereafter referred to as “CRM”).

Starting date: 1 March 2024

Working hours: 8:00 – 17:00 from Monday to Thursday and until 16:00 on Friday. Events may take place after hours and on public holidays or weekends.

Experience Required
• Matric
• Relevant hospitality qualification or experience
• Experience in the corporate environment and/or marketing will be advantageous
• Experience with wine farms and/or in the tasting room will be advantageous
The ideal candidate will have a firm hand in the management of housekeeping staff; be an excellent communicator and have a energetic, self-starter and result-driven personality.

The Role
The main responsibility of this role is to maintain and build relationships with corporate clients as well as concierge and travel agencies, with the aim of attracting clients to the estate and marketing wine for purposes of premium corporate gifts/wine bar stock. Event and housekeeping management forms an integral part of this role. You will be working alongside and reporting to the Marketing Manager.

Client Liaison
• Assist clients with walk-in tastings & tours
• Reach out to potential corporate clients and build relationships
• Boardroom & facilities marketing 
• Reach out to hotel, concierge & tour guides to attract clientele
• Management of admin and alias email accounts
• Trade whatsapp line communication management and occasional trade visits

Event & Conference Management:
• Conceptualise event themes
• Arrange event from sourcing of suppliers, food & drinks, stationery, gifts etc.
• Manage staff, checklists and timelines of events
• Manage set up & breakdown before and after events
• Sourcing & management of suppliers
• Event budgeting

• Assist with management of inventory, sourcing & production
• Printing of stationery such as brochures, tasting notes etc.
• Yearly price increase for event & conference packaging 

Housekeeping & Staff
• Manage tasting room & housekeeping staff through means of checklist and spot checks
• Manage Manor House inventory & monthly groceries
• Manage Guest Room and Cottage as and when guests are received
• Assist Marketing Manager with interior & aesthetic requirements
• Assist with tasting room or housekeeping staff expansion
• Assisting with tasting room & experience development such as offering platters, etc.


• Monthly database & new clients report
• Monthly corporate & concierge reach report

Ad Hoc Assistance as required from time to time:
• Front of House management
• Liaison with Platinum & Gold Club members
• Local off-site events
