The above vacancy exists in the Neethlingshof Wine Tasting Centre. Following hereunder are the main responsibilities of this position:

  • Conducting wine tastings and pairings to individuals, smaller groups as well as big groups
  • Facilitating wine sales
  • Conducting cellar tours
  • Food service to customers
  • General housekeeping ensuring that the facility remains neat and clean
  • Stock control & daily cash handling
  • Maintaining financial records
  • Ensuring the smooth running of the facility operating 7 days a week
  • Participating with offsite tastings and events
  • Build and maintain customer relationships, in effort to continuously grow the brand

The successful candidate will have to be in possession of / demonstrate the following:

  •  A matric certificate and at least 1-2 years’ experience in the wine and hospitality industry
  • Computer literate will be advantageous
  • Be a well presented, dynamic, self-driven and organised team player
  • Able to conduct tastings, tours etc in both English as well as Afrikaans
  • Customer Service Centric - Able to promote our products to guests and make them feel at home and welcomed
  • Proven sales ability – able to persuade guests to buy our products and close a sales deal
  • Willing to assist with everything in the Wine Tasting Centre (including general housekeeping duties)
  • Able to work shifts which includes weekends and public holidays. Willingness to work overtime when necessary
  • Treat fellow employees and patrons with respect and have the ability to naturally demand respect from fellow employees and patrons
  • Have reliable transport to and from the workplace and be in possession of a valid driver’s licence.
