BVPD currently has two exciting internal opportunities for Compliance Consultants to become part of their (BVPD’s) dynamic team. The positions will be based in Robertson and Wellington respectively. The successful candidates will work as consultants assisting agricultural clients with compliance matters and preparation for third party audits. The envisaged candidates must be highly motivated and goal-driven individuals, with in-depth knowledge of Ethical Audits.

Main responsibilities:

  • Assist with packhouse, cellar and farm compliance and ensure they receive continual updates of new regulations
  • Review, improve and develop measures and documentation as required by legislation
  • Assist with recordkeeping
  • Conduct internal auditing to ascertain compliance
  • Audit preparation, co-ordination and clearing out non-conformances for certification
  • Assist with clients due diligence requirements and update platforms with required information
  • Handle improvements and updates of the compliance system based on changes in operation as well as regulatory changes
  • Facilitate risk assessments, meetings and training

Education and experience:

  • Matric
  • A degree in Agriculture / Human Resources or related
  • Training and/or experience in the following auditsSIZA, SIZA Environmental; WIETA; Fairtrade; LEAF and any other type of compliance audit that the client may require.
  • Previous experience in a similar role will be advantageous
  • Must be a team player and be able to work independently and pro-actively
  • Effective handling of detailed information and consistent attention to detail
  • Ability to work with little supervision and track multiple processes at the same time
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent computer proficiency (Wine MS & MS Office, especially Excel);
  • Solution focused
  • Meticulous work ethic
  • Strong admin skills

Other requirements specific to the role:

  • Own transport and valid driver’s licence
