Farm Manager

De Morgenzon, a quality focused wine estate in Stellenbosch seeks to employ an experienced Farm Manager.

The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising farming activities, assist with basic admin and implement the required regulatory standards.

 Leadership Skills

• They will need to exercise leadership through example and show initiative to motivate the vineyard team.

 Practical Skills

• The successful candidate needs to have a good understanding of all vineyard work.
• A keen eye for common vineyard pests and diseases.
• The ability to assist with monitoring, counts, record keeping and basic administration tasks.
• The successful candidate needs to have young vine training experience.
• They must be able to operate basic farming implements and mechanical know-how will be advantageous.
• Have a good understanding of Health and Safety protocols and procedures.

 Potential

• Ideal candidates should have a passion for grapes, excellent attention to detail and a desire to succeed.
• Good communication skills and the ability to report and give feedback to the Vineyard Manager is important.
• The ideal candidate needs to have a positive attitude and a willingness to work outside normal working hours.
• Be a driver of efficiency and a motivator of personnel.
• A code 10 driver’s license and digger operator’s license will be beneficial.
