Position Purpose:
As a driver at Warwick Wine Estate, your primary purpose is to ensure the seamless execution of our delivery and collection processes, providing exceptional customer service while upholding the highest standards of compliance and efficiency.
Requirements:
- Grade 10 or equivalent.
- Minimum 1 year of driving experience in a professional capacity.
- Minimum 1 years’ experience in dealing with customers.
- English proficient (speaking, reading and writing).
- Time-Management skills.
- Attention to detail.
- Basic Mathematics abilities.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Valid Code C1 drivers’ licence is required, Code EB will be beneficial.
- Valid PrDP is required.
- A valid forklift license will be beneficial.
Responsibilities:
- Customer Service:
- Ensure professional and timely deliveries and collections for the company, customers, service providers, and/or vendors.
- Review and check deliveries and collections with stakeholders to meet their needs.
- Provide exceptional customer service during all interactions.
- Collect and make payments at designated locations.
- Safety:
- Take responsibility for the company vehicle(s) and ensure that vehicle(s) are always kept clean and well-maintained.
- Promptly inform management of any repairs or maintenance required.
- Perform vehicle and equipment inspections according to Health & Safety policies.
- Handle fragile and hazardous goods with special care.
- Keep track of vehicle service logs and report scheduled services and maintenance to the Estate Manager.
- Adhere to company operating policies, drive safely, and follow all driving laws and rules.
- Report accidents or injuries to management immediately.
- Ensure your drivers license and PrDP are valid at all times.
- Communication:
- Communicate with customers, service providers and/or vendors to provide updates on delivery statuses.
- Inform management of any changes to deliveries, routes, or schedules.
- Report any obstructions affecting safe and efficient deliveries.
- Efficiency:
- Analyse delivery addresses to determine the best, direct, and safest route.
- Follow pre-planned routes accurately without deviation.
- Assist in the warehouse and other general and driving duties.
- Quality Control:
- Pack, check, load, and unload goods according to company specifications.
- Obtain delivery confirmations from customers, service providers, and/or vendors.
- Maintain a driving log, prepare vehicle performance forms, and complete daily paperwork and checklists.
