Newly opening restaurant in Stellenbosch Central requires a vibrant person, with an abundance of energy and enthusiasm to join the team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following: 

* measuring meal ingredients for the Chefs * preparing meal ingredients, which includes seasoning of different meats as well as washing, peeling, and chopping vegetables and fruits * preparing basic salads and sauces as directed by the Chefs * taking inventory when needed * discarding expired and spoiled food items stored in the stock rooms, refrigerators, and freezers * performing basic cleaning duties and ensuring that workstations are properly sanitized * plating and presenting meal items as per the Chef’s instructions.

Applications are awaited from persons who comply with the following:

* degree or diploma in culinary arts / formal chefs training * one years’ experience in a similar position  * excellent communication and interpersonal skills * energetic personality * ability to work under pressure * attention to detail * ability to use initiative and be self-driven * own reliable transport will be preferable * sober habits * willingness to work weekends and Public Holidays * contactable references available
