Newly opening restaurant in the heart of Stellenbosch seeks an experienced Sommelier to join their team. This position will also act as Assistant Restaurant Manager.

 The ideal individual is highly self-motivated, someone with a strong background relating to Fine Dine Cuisine with exceptional wine knowledge, passionate about the hospitality industry, experience in managing a restaurant operations in sophisticated dining environment, someone who is quality driven, a leader, stable and able to perform under pressure.

 Key Role: Assist and support the Restaurant Manager with the daily restaurant operations, ensuring profitability of the restaurant and performing the role of Sommelier in this fine dine restaurant.  

 Position Requirements

  • A formal Education relating to Food and Beverage Management
  • Exceptional wine knowledge and formal wine education(WSET 2 or Sommelier Certification)
  • High level of operational and interpersonal skills
  • Minimum of 5 years‘ management experience in a sophisticated dining environment
  • Strong ability to lead and manage a front of house team effectively
  • Stable and solid track record
  • International culinary experience will be advantageous
  • Own reliable transport 
  • Fluent in English and Afrikaans
