Strong Sous Chef required to form part of a dynamic team of a vibrant Bistro on an Upmarket Estate near Franschhoek. The perfect individual is someone with a strong culinary skills, experienced in hot section, with a love for food, experience in running and managing a busy Restaurant, experienced in Banqueting operations, quality driven, a leader, stable and able to perform under pressure.
Minimum Requirements and Key Responsibilities:
• A formal Culinary Education
• Minimum of 3 years‘ experience as Sous Chef level with strong culinary and banqueting background
• Assist with menu planning and costing recipes, food consumption, strict stock controls, stock management, stock movement, rotation and ordering and supplier liaison
• Excellent control of food cost, wastage and kitchen preparation
• Ongoing staff training and development
• Ensuring the team has high standards of food hygiene and follow the rules of health and safety
• Valid driver’s licence and own reliable transport a pre-requisite
• Computer literate
