Purpose: The purpose of the role is to provide assistance to the owner
Reporting line: The position reports to the owner
Duties and responsibilities:
- Working alongside the labour team, both permanent and contract labour
- Must be physically fit to handle all aspects of the job
Responsibilities:
- New vineyard plantings
- Soil preparation
- Weed control
- Road maintenance
- Irrigation and pipes maintenance and management for vineyard and consumption
- Workshop, vinery and house renovations and maintenance
- Take ownership of issues and follow through to resolve them
Job Requirements:
- Degree in Viticulture and Oenology from either Stellenbosch University or Elsenburg Agricultural College
- Own reliable transport with valid driver's license preferred
This is a “greenfield” opportunity for a young graduate, who is a hands-on person. All aspects of the vineyard need to be addressed and it is a learning and proving ground for young people.
No work experience needed, however 1-2 years vineyard experience, will count in the applicant’s favour.
