Our client, a newly established Coffee Shop situated 20km from Paarl and Durbanville, is looking to employ a talented Chef to join their team. The Coffee Shop serve Breakfast and Lunch daily.
We are looking for a skilled Chef with preferably previous coffee shop experience, and a love for food. A formal Culinary education will be advantageous.
In the Chef role you would be expected to assist with the food preparation and cooking activities, strict stock controls, stock movement, rotation, ordering and supplier liaison, excellent control of food cost, wastage and kitchen preparation, ensuring high standards of food hygiene and follow the rules of health and safety. Supervise the purchase, storage and issuing of food, staff management, training and development.
Position requirements:
- Own reliable transport and valid driver's license essential
- Residing in Durbanville / Paarl area
- Strong culinary operational skill set to execute daily food prep and cooking, stock control, waste management, excellent knowledge of food safety procedures
- Ability to interact with customers
Remuneration: R8 000 – R10 000 Basic (Dependant on experience)
Start: 2 May 2024
