Cole the Eatery is a lively, vibey restaurant specializing in hand-crafted pizzas and much more. We are looking for a young, vibrant sous chef to join us before we launch our winter menu. Our team has grown significantly since opening in 2023, and we offer very reasonable working hours and compensation.

The ideal candidate must have the following qualities:

-Must have SA citizenship 
-Previous experience in the restaurant industry (especially kitchen) is NB. 
-Knowledgable individual who knows how to run a kitchen
-Eager to learn new skills and recipes
-Must have contactable references on CV 
-Excellent at communication
-Management skills
-Organized and structured
-Hard-working and able to cope with long hours
-Loyalty towards the restaurant and fellow staff
-Team player
-Respect towards guests and fellow staff
-Time management skills
-Hygienic operations 
-On time and presentable at any given moment

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to : 

-Running the pass and kitchen duties when head chef is unable to
-Ordering and stock take 
-Creating and testing recipes when needed
-Instructing and giving orders to fellow staff (in a respectful manner)
-Ensure hygiene of kitchen work spaces as well as general staff hygiene 
-Ensure smooth operation of sections within the kitchen 
-Sous must have knowledge of menu items, ingredients, allergens etc. 
- Sous must be able to create, plate and send all menu items fresh, fast , and of high quality 
-Sous must be able to take orders from head chef and owner at all given times

Salary negotiable.
