A vacancy for a Driver currently exists at Stellenbosch Voedingsaksie. Stellenbosch Voedingsaksie (Feeding in Action) is a non-profit organisation that provides meals and food supplies to nearly 5000 people each week. With the help of volunteers and donations of food and money, we distribute food at 60 strategic feeding points in the Broader Stellenbosch Municipal Area and support 25 community organisations.
The purpose of the role is to distribute goods within the greater Stellenbosch municipal area to various points of delivery.

- Collection & delivery of goods
- Loading and unpacking of goods at storage facility
- Overseeing of vehicle cleanliness & tidiness
Key responsibilities
Collection of goods. Travelling from the office / staorage facility in Plankenburg , Stellenbosch, to collect goods (donations, food products etc.) from donors. Unloading and storage of goods at storage facility.
Delivery of goods. Loading goods at storage facility and delivery at feeding points.
Vehicle maintenance. Cleaning company vehicles on a weekly basis. Keeping record of travelling. Noting and communicating problems / issues on vehicles.
Qualification and experience
A valid driver’s licence and sufficient experience in moving goods is a prerequisite for this role.
Candidate profile requirements
The role requires someone who has a core approach of serving others. Stellenbosch Feeding in Action serves the community and what makes us successful is our ability to adapt to the needs of community members. Donation collection and distribution sometimes happen on short notice and outside of normal business hours. We therefore require someone who lives in Stellenbosch and who is able to assist with distribution accordingly.
Honesty is key to this role as we are dependent on donors who trust Feeding in Action to distribute all donations to the benefit of the community.
