Current vacancy for a Wine Tasting Room Manager in Klapmuts area, where duties and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the management of all daily operations in the Tasting Room.

SKILLS

  • Must demonstrate a positive attitude, professional and excellent service and hospitality to a high level of guest satisfaction
  • Strong verbal communication skills in English and Afrikaans and an additional language will be to your benefit
  • Be knowledgeable of all wine offerings with a qualification in Wine Tourism
  • Energetic, accountable, and team-oriented
  • Reliable, responsible, and organized
  • Strong interpersonal skills, team player and a leader
  • Attention to detail, planning and thoroughness
  • Proficient in EzyWine, Excel, or ability to learn these programs.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure in a fast-paced working environment
  • Minimum of five years in a managerial position in the wine industry required

TASKS

  • Oversee the daily operations of our Tasting Room, which includes tastings, visitor relations, tours, staff management and performances, cash-ups and stock control
  • Inventory management of wine, retail merchandise and tasting room supplies
  • Partner with wine educators, winemakers and production staff to ensure the staff receives the appropriate level of sales, product and general wine education and training
  • Coordinate hospitality events, such as consumer tastings, VIP tastings and events
  • Handle routine purchasing transactions, including operating registers, and accounting for daily sales
