JOB REQUIREMENTS

Minimum Education/Qualification/Experience:

  • Senior certificate / grade 12 / matric.
  • Suitable tertiary qualification.
  • Minimum 2 years of work experience in the fruit industry, with a specific focus on sea exports and related documentation.

PURPOSE OF THE JOB           

To ensure that product is moved from the grower to the client according to standard procedures and protocols, whilst maintaining ongoing communication with role players.

·       Interacting with the commercial departments

·       Informing customers regaring their allocations

·       Shipment tracking to the customers.

·       Container tracking.

·       Communicating with destination agents and customers.

·       Dealing with internal, customer and agent queries.

·       Following up on destination deliveries and Proof of   Deliveries.

·       Ensuring all details on the ERP system are correct and maintained.

Seafreight Transport

·       Source destination transport quotes.

·       Arrange destination transport if required.

·       Communicate with transporter, customer and internal stakeholders.

Seafreight Documentation

·       Execute final loading notifications and forward to clients and clearing agents.

·       Good understanding of export documentation - accurate checking, liasing with freight forwarders regarding corrections, documents required for destinations being shipped to.

·       Manage documentation log

·       Follow up with origin agents regarding documents, amendments

·       Build relationship with regulatory bodies

·       Stay informed regarding industry standards

·       Ensuring all documents are received, saved, and sent to correct clients/agents

Logistics

·       Monitor vessel ETD, ATD, ETA and ATA’s and followed-up previous week’s shipments ATD and ATA.

·       Clients loadplans

·       Distribute load-out summary for previous week’s loadings.

·       Sign off creditor’s invoice after checking against quotes/agreements.

·       Delivery tracking, queries, planning, follow up, and capturing.

Pre Season

·       Compare and find best rates from service providers.

·       Build interpersonal relationships (by arranging visits)

General

·       Assist with other logistics tasks and functions as required
