Executive Chef - Wine Estate - 6 Months Contract

We are looking for a creative and proficient Executive Chef in all aspects of food preparation. Your role is multifaceted encompassing duties described below. These attributions are essential and rely on your leadership to maintain complete control of the kitchen. We are looking for a Chef that has worked in luxury properties before, has a creative flair a passion for local produce, staff training and development as well as guest relations.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Plan and direct food preparation and culinary activities;
  • Modify menus or create new seasonal menus that meets quality standards;
  • Estimate food requirements and food/labour costs;
  • Stock control;
  • Supervise kitchen staff’s activities;
  • Arrange for equipment purchases and repairs;
  • Recruit and manage kitchen staff;
  • Rectify arising problems or complaints;
  • Give prepared plates the “final touch”;
  • Perform administrative duties;
  • Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards;
  • Keep time and payroll records;
  • Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers;

Please note that this is a seasonal 6 month's contract.
