Asara Wine Estate and Hotel situated in Stellenbosch has the above position available.

Our ideal candidate is well-presented, well-spoken, and very detail orientated. He or she can work in a structured and organised way and with a hands-on approach in a calm, focused manner. This candidate should possess exceptional communications skills, strong work ethic, problem solve orientated and attention to detail.

DUTIES will include (but not be limited to):

  1. Guest Service (Attract, Retain and Grow).
  2. Assist the Manager with staff management (Team culture; communication; Performance Management; Succession planning).
  3. Managing the floor during service.
  4. Financial and Stock Control.
  5. Being a liaison between the front and back of house operations.

SKILLS

  • Excellent communication skills (Verbal and Written).
  • Excellent command of English and Afrikaans, additional international foreign language advantageous.
  • WSET or Cape Wine Academy accreditation is advantageous.
  • Leadership skills.
  • Experience in restaurant or hotel software, Microsoft Office and POS.
  • Detail-orientated & accurate.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize.
  • Calm under pressure.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & EXPERIENCES:

At least 2 years of progressive experience in a restaurant or a related field; or a 4-year college degree and at least 1 years of related experience. Must have an interest in the wine industry or willing to learn. Must be flexible to work weekends, evenings and public holidays.

Own Transport essential.
