Position: Wine Tasting Room Manager

At Lourensford, we pride ourselves on producing exceptional wines and providing an unforgettable experience for our guests. Nestled in the heart of the Helderberg, our winery combines tradition with innovation to create a unique and welcoming environment for wine enthusiasts.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily operations of the tasting room, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable experience for all visitors.
  • Lead and inspire a team of tasting room associates, providing training and guidance to ensure top-notch customer service.
  • Conduct engaging and informative wine tastings, sharing the story of our winery and the nuances of our wines.
  • Manage inventory and sales, ensuring accurate records and efficient stock control.
  • Develop and implement marketing strategies to attract new visitors
  • Plan and execute special events, such as private tastings, corporate events, and seasonal celebrations.
  • Maintain the tasting room’s ambiance, ensuring a clean, organized, and inviting atmosphere.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in hospitality, retail, or a related field, with a strong preference for experience in the wine industry.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and educate guests.
  • Strong leadership abilities, with experience managing and motivating a team.
  • Knowledge of wine production and tasting techniques is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in point-of-sale (POS) systems and basic accounting practices.
  • Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and occasional evenings.
