Facilities Manager for Wine Estate - R80 000 + ctc based on experience

A beautiful Wine Estate in the Stellenbosch surrounds seeks a proactive and experienced Facilities Manager to oversee the comprehensive management of its facilities and properties.  The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the efficient operation and maintenance of all physical assets, managing property leases and contracts, overseeing security and hospitality maintenance teams, coordinating new projects, and maintaining IT network infrastructure and related services.  This is a senior position reporting to the Hospitality MD.

The farm consists of a hotel, spa, wine cellar, nursery, food garden, waste plant, aerobic wastewater treatment plant, and freshwater supply plant.

Responsibilities include:

• Manage and oversee the maintenance, repair, and operation of all company facilities, including buildings, equipment, and grounds.

• Develop and implement maintenance schedules and procedures to ensure the proper functioning of all facilities.

• Lead and manage new infrastructure projects from inception to completion,including planning, budgeting, scheduling, and coordination of contractors and

stakeholders.

• Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and service providers to ensure timely and cost-effective maintenance and repairs.

• Manage property leases, contracts, and tenant relationships for all company-owned or leased properties.

• Oversee security measures for all facilities, including surveillance systems, access control, and emergency response protocols.

• Review, adapt and implement security policies and procedures to ensure the safety and security of employees and assets.

• Implement and oversee health and safety management protocols specific to a hospitality property, ensuring compliance with regulations and promoting a safe

environment for guests and staff.

• Manage a hospitality maintenance team responsible for maintaining the upkeep of guest-facing areas and amenities.

Oversee IT network infrastructure, ensuring the smooth operation of all technologysystems.

• Responsible for the development and oversight of the property budget and for providing reports on facility management, water, waste, renewable energy, and

electricity consumption objectives.

Experience and Qualifications:

• Appropriate qualifications in facilities and project management. Proven track record and expertise in facilities and property management systems and practices.

• Security management

• Project management

• Hospitality maintenance and best practice

• IT infrastructure planning and management

• Excellent organisational, communication, and leadership skills in managing teams and engaging an extended stakeholder group.

• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

• Proficiency in using Microsoft 365 and Teams, facilities management software, security systems, project management tools, and IT infrastructure management tools.

Due to the nature of the hospitality business, this position is required to work over weekends and public holidays as rostered.

A family home on the farm is available. 

Salary is dependent on experience.
