Pastry Chef

La Motte Wine Farm in the Franschhoek Valley requires a passionate Pastry Chef to join the Bakery team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following: 

  • daily running and overseeing of all pastry preparations
  • work closely with the Head Chef to create innovative desserts, pastries, and confectionary items
  • continuously explore new techniques, flavours and trends in pastry-making to keep menu fresh and exciting
  • staff management
  • inventory and stock management

 Applications are awaited from persons who comply with the following:

  • degree or diploma in culinary arts
  • minimum 4 years’ experience in a similar position
  • minimum 1 years’ experience in a senior role
  • an extensive repertoire of pastry and confectionary techniques and trends
  • strong leadership and communication skills
  • ability to function as part of a team
  • ability to work in a fast-paced environment with challenging deadlines
  • willingness to work on weekends and public holidays
  • own transport
