Our client in the Manufacturing Industry is urgently seeking the expertise of a Procurement Manager to join their team in Paarl, Western Cape.

Duties and Responsibilities include; but not limited to:

Manage procurement of all applicable items required (e.g raw materials, packaging materials
Ensure competitive supplier pricing
Drive product development & provide procurement for raw materials
Strategizing to find cost-effective deals and suppliers to ensure low procurement expenses
Devise and use fruitful sourcing strategies
Collaborate with key persons in different departments to ensure clarity of the specifications and standards expected from the company
Liaise with other parts of the business and make strategic decisions relating to stock holding.
Conduct monthly stock control meeting

Ensure analyst sends water and effluent samples each month
Conduct current and future forecasting analysis, ensuring forecasting processes and methods are followed.
Use forecasting to develop capacity plan
Resolve potential shortages or surpluses of products by managing or adjusting inventory levels
Foresee alterations in the comparative negotiating ability of suppliers and clients
Expect unfavourable events through analysis of data and prepare control strategies

Service delivery
Discover profitable suppliers and initiate business and organization partnerships
Ensure proper supplier management in terms of pricing, product & service level agreements
Negotiate with external vendors to secure advantageous terms
Examine and test existing contracts, manage contracts for transport
Perform risk management for supply contracts and agreements check credentials, references from industry partners, etc

Control spend and build a culture of long-term saving on procurement costs (monthly meeting)
Finalise purchase details of orders and deliveries
Manage invoices and follow up on Purchase orders
Approve the ordering of necessary goods and services
Track and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness and waste management
