Our client, a well-established Bistro-style restaurant, situated in the heart of Franschhoek valley, is looking for an experienced SOUS CHEF to join their culinary team. The restaurant setting is homely and relaxed and offers lunch and dinners daily.

We are looking for a SOUS CHEF with a formal Culinary Qualification with a strong operational and culinary skill set, previous experience in an elevated dining environment, with a love for food and cooking, strong ability to manage and develop staff, quality driven, a leader, stable and able to perform under pressure. Own reliable transport and valid driver’s licence beneficial.

In the SOUS CHEF role you would be expected to assist with managing and directing the kitchen operations and staff, assist with menu planning, strict stock control and management, supplier liaison, excellent control of food cost, wastage and kitchen preparation, staff development and disciplining, ensuring the team has high standards of food hygiene and follow the rules of health and safety.
