Job description

We are seeking a dynamic and creative Marketing Assistant to join our team and grow our social media presence at one of the wine industry leaders in Stellenbosch. As a key player in our marketing team, you will have the opportunity to engage with a global audience to showcase our exceptional offerings.

Position Overview

As a member of the Marketing team, you will be the voice of the company, you will collaborate closely with all team members to develop and execute strategic campaigns. You will leverage your creativity, industry knowledge, and digital marketing expertise to curate compelling content, cultivate our online community, and drive brand awareness leading to customer loyalty. Reporting directly to the Marketing Manager, you will be required to be organized, efficient and innovative.

Key Responsibilities

- Project management – update all admin to a Project Management tool to ensure all are aligned.

- Develop and implement social media strategies aligned with overall marketing objectives, focusing on platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, Tiktok, LinkedIn, and emerging channels.

- Generate and maintain a content calendar.

- Create engaging, high-quality content including graphics, photos, videos, and written posts that showcase our wines, vineyards, winemakers, and brand story.

- Monitor social media channels, respond to comments and messages, and engage with followers in a timely and authentic manner.

- Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to plan and execute campaigns, promotions, and events.

- Analyze social media metrics and performance data to measure the effectiveness of campaigns, identify trends, and optimize strategies for maximum impact.

- Manage all websites, CRM and databases.

- Stay informed about industry trends, best practices, and platform updates, and incorporate new ideas and technologies into our social media approach.

- Wine presentations and attend events on behalf of the brand.

- Any relevant duties assigned to you by your line manager.

Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Digital Media, or related field.

- 1-2 years of experience in social media marketing, preferably in the wine or food and beverage industry.

- Experience with Project Management tools.

- Strong understanding of social media platforms, trends, and best practices.

- Proficiency in content creation tools and software such as Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, or similar.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for detail and creativity.

- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

This is an office based position and the role requires the person to work from Stellenbosch, Monday to Friday with some after-hours/weekend work needed on occasion.
