Our client, situated in the picturesque Franschhoek, has an exciting opportunity available for an innovative Winemaker with a passion for Cap Classique, to take full responsibility of their Cap Classique range.
The successful candidate will be responsible for (but not limited to): *Winemaking (Cap Classique) *Managing incoming grapes during harvest *Fermentation management and control in tanks, barrels and bottles *Tasting, blending and bottling *Riddling and disgorging of various styles of Cap Classique *Dosage trials *Management of wine quality control and cellar hygiene *Managing team of cellar workers *Inventory control of wine and dry goods *Wine tastings and wine promotions *Liaison with clients and suppliers *All other relevant tasks related to this position.
Essential qualifications, skills and experience:
• Relevant tertiary qualification in Viticulture and Oenology;
• Minimum 5 years’ relevant Winemaking/Cap Classique experience essential;
• Previous experience in French Methodology will be advantageous;
• Computer literacy (Microsoft Office, Wine MS);
• Thorough knowledge of relevant quality systems and accreditations;
• Valid driver’s license.
