Tasting House Runner

Blaauwklippen Hospitality (Pty) Ltd requires a hardworking Tasting House Runner to join their Tasting House Team. The ideal candidate must be well-spoken, self-motivated, enthusiastic, presentable, and fluent in English with a good command of Afrikaans. This candidate should always be polite with our customers and make sure they enjoy their Tasting House experience.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDES BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

• Greet and escort customers to their tables,
• Present menu and provide detailed information on all Tasting House offerings,
• Prepare tables by setting up linens, silverware, and glasses,
• Must be able to multi-task various front of house duties ,
• Up-sell additional products when appropriate,
• Take accurate food and drinks orders for the wine advisor, when necessary,
• Communicate order details to the Kitchen Staff,
• Serve food and drink orders to tables,
• Check dishes and kitchenware for cleanliness and presentation and report any problems to FOH Manager,
• Arrange table settings and maintain a tidy dining area,
• Deliver checks and collect bill payments,
• Carry dirty plates, glasses, and silverware to kitchen for cleaning,
• Meet with restaurant staff to review daily specials, changes on the menu and service specifications for reservations (e.g., special events/ parties),
• Follow all relevant health & safety regulations,
• Provide excellent customer service to guests.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Proven work experience as a Waiter or Waitress
• Attentiveness and patience for customers
• Ability to perform well in a fast-paced environment
• Active listening and effective communication skills
• Team spirit/ player
• Flexibility to work in shifts
