We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Assistant Front of House (FOH) Manager to oversee the daily operations of our restaurant and tasting room. The right candidate will have a strong passion for hospitality, wine, and food service, and will focus on creating exceptional experiences for our guests. Your role will involve assisting the management of FOH operations, supervising staff, and upholding high standards of customer service, safety, and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities to support the current Manager:

  • Operational Management: Ensure efficient daily FOH operations, maintaining service quality and smooth service flow.
  • Customer Service: Provide outstanding service, manage guest interactions, address complaints promptly, and enhance overall customer satisfaction.
  • Staff Management: Oversee staff scheduling, train team members in service excellence, and inspire peak performance, especially during busy periods.
  • Guest Engagement: Drive wine sales, handle reservations, welcome guests, and promote pairings..
  • Continuous Improvement: Regularly assess in conjunction with the Manager, FOH operations and staff performance to identify areas for enhancement and implement improvements.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Experience: 3-5 years in a supervisory or management role within the hospitality industry, preferably in a busy restaurant or tasting room.
  • Education: Matric certificate required.
  • Skills: Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal abilities; strong customer service orientation; attention to detail; financial management skills including budgeting and cost control; knowledge of food safety and inventory practices; proficiency in restaurant management software (Pilot and DinePlan).
  • Additional Requirements: Flexibility to work various hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays; ability to multitask and handle high-pressure situations calmly; strong problem-solving skills; enthusiasm for wine and food.
