Winemaker

Lutzville Vineyards, located in the picturesque Olifantsriver Valley, is a well-established producer of bulk and bottled wine, offering superior quality and value.  The cellar currently has a dynamic career opportunity for an energetic Winemaker to join their production team.  The successful candidate will report to the Production Manager.

 Responsibilities:

• Winemaking (large range of different wines)
• Quality control
• Personnel management
• Stock control
• Wine administration
• Wine tastings and liaison
• Maintenance and housekeeping
• Maintaining quality systems

 Requirements:

• A formal qualification (degree / diploma) in viticulture and oenology
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience as Winemaker
• Excellent management skills
• High level of confidentiality
• Ability to handle multiple activities simultaneously
• Self-driven and independent
• Excellent computer proficiencies (WineMS / EZYWine)
• Excellent interpersonal- and communication skills
• The ability to function effectively as part of a team
• Excellent organisational and planning skills
• Fully bilingual (Afrikaans and English)
• Valid driver’s license
