Junior Winemaker

Diemersdal Wine Estate currently has an exciting position available for an Assistant Winemaker situated Durbanville (Western Cape). The ideal candidate is a diligent, detail- oriented individual with strong interpersonal skills (Afrikaans & English), and has the ability to perform well in both team context and independently.

The Junior Winemaker will be responsible for (but not limited to): *full winemaking process as part of the winemaking team *blending and stabilisation of wine *coordination of harvest activities *bottling quality control *basic laboratory analysis *quality control *inventory management *cellar staff management *cellar hygiene *liaison on wine sales, wine tastings and promotions *wine/cellar administration and record keeping *all other functions related to the position.

Essential qualifications, skills and experience:
• Diploma/Degree in Viticulture and Oenology;
• Approximately 3 years' relevant experience;
• Knowledge of different quality control systems (IPW, BRCGS, WIETA);
• Excellent computer proficiency (MS Office, WineMS);
• Attention to detail and passionate and energetic mindset
• Valid driver's license.

Commencement date: 1 November 2024 or earlier.
