Commercial Manager: Asia - Citrus - Port Elizabeth

Job overview:

Established fruit exporter, based in Port Elizabeth, seeks to employ an experienced Commercial Manager with a strong commercial background in citrus exports to Asia.  The ideal candidate must be capable of supporting the company’s dynamic and fast-paced environment and have the ability to cooperate in a diverse team. 

Requirements

• Tertiary Qualification preferably in in Agriculture, Logistics; Finance or Marketing
• Marketing and/ or sales experience in Asian markets
• Experience in growing sales
• Proven record of ability to build strong business relationships
• Product knowledge of citrus
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in the fruit industry
• Computer literate, especially Microsoft Office

Job Description

• Manage current and new business relationships effectively
• Grow sales in Asian markets and increase group’s market share in these markets
• Have market presence and travel regularly to markets to visit existing customers and develop new sales channels
• Collaborate with the procurement team to identify sourcing opportunities and visit packhouses and growers regularly along with the procurement team.
• Provide regular market updates to procurement team and growers
• Identification and pursuit of opportunities to expand business
• Analysis of sales and finance reports to gain insights into how to improve performance and maximize growth
• Operational and Administrative Setup: Maintain transparency with continuous reporting, including price estimates, collection follow-ups, sales accounts, and cost management.
