Springfield Estate - Cellar Interns for the 2025 Harvest

Springfield Estate in Robertson is looking for cellar interns to join us for the upcoming vintage.

Interns will be involved in all aspects of the winemaking and production process. No vineyard work will be required except for the odd grape sampling pre harvest.

The interns will be accompanied in the cellar by our winemaking team and other interns. During this period you will experience all aspects of winemaking at springfield Estate including, but not limited to:

  • Grape sampling
  • Pressing
  • Cleaning tanks and barrels
  • Rackings and wine movements
  • Additions and yeast innoculations
  • Fermentation monitoring and pump overs
  • Cap Classique production

Duration of the internship: January – April 2025

We would like to encourage anyone wanting to pursue a career in winemaking to apply. Experience in the field will count in your favour but is not necessary.
The following is required by us:
- A valid drivers lisence, and the ability to tow a trailer.
- The ability to pick up 20kg, repeatedly

-Able to work on your own or in a team
- Good at record keeping and the ability to report back to the winemakers 

- Be willing to work overtime and on weekends

Preference will be given to South African applicants

Accomodation can be provided on the farm. We will also provide atleast one meal a day with the team.
