De Toren Private Cellar’s marketing team has a vacancy for a mid-senior Client Relations & Hospitality Manager. We are looking for a confident, enthusiastic, creative individual with a minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role. The ideal candidate will have a passion for wine, hospitality and marketing; be an excellent communicator; have a self-starter and result-driven personality; be well-groomed and foster an appreciation for the finer things in life.
Starting date: 1 November 2024

Experience Required

• Matric and a relevant hospitality/marketing/business qualification or experience
• Experience in/a passion for the luxury industry
• Experience in the corporate environment will be advantageous
• Experience with wine farms and/or in the tasting room will be advantageous

The Role

The main responsibilities of this role is to take full ownership of all hospitality-related aspects of the Estate, to drive results through innovation and sales, as well as maintaining and building relationships with a variety of clients who form an integral part of our day-to-day operations. In addition, any opportunities identified for purposeful, brand-aligned partnerships will be welcomed but not required.
The purpose of this role is to ensure that the high standards of memorable experiences for guests are enhanced and upheld, as well as to attract new clients to the Estate with the purpose of stimulating the experiences offered, wine sales and spark interest in a variety of corporate offerings. The role may involve local travelling, mostly in neighbourhoods closer to the Estate. You will be working alongside the Marketing Co-Ordinator and Marketing Manager in the marketing office and you will manage the Front of House team in relation to all hospitality standards. You will report to the Marketing Manager.
All marketing staff are required to present wine tastings and tours and training will be provided within the first month.

Manor House, Hospitality & Events

• Replenish and take stock of Manor House supplies (glasses, groceries, bar stock, etc.)
• Stock take of marketing collateral
• Costing of platters/wine tastings/events packages
• Assist clients with presenting informative wine tastings & tours
• Training of Front of House team for hospitality and tastings
• Hiring of cleaning staff and subsequent disciplinary matters as and when necessary
• Front of House assistance as and when necessary
• Conceptualise, quote and execute events for private clients, corporate clients, trade clients, partnerships, etc.
• Post-event discussions to identify success blueprints and improvements

Private Client Liaison

• Retention of and building relationships with existing and new Platinum and Gold Club clients
• Manage reservation orders which precedes the release of new vintages
• Manage Club benefits

Corporate Liaison

• Maintaining and building relationships with existing and new corporate clients through liaison and finding new and innovative solutions to become a preferred ‘partner’ in wine     and dining experiences
• Market on-site facilities to corporate clients (boardroom for intimate conferences, braai facility for South African experiences, dining area for private dinners)
• Market our premium wines to corporate clients for various purposes such as corporate gifting, bar stock supply and wine tasting experiences
• Find creative solutions to personalise and premiumise corporate gifting
• Conference and catering management
• Develop and negotiate loyalty programs/benefits as and when appropriate

Concierge & Travel Liaison

This function may be delegated to Front of House
• Maintain current relationships with concierge and travel agencies
• Identify top-tier concierge and travel agencies and build relationships to attract international clientele
• Develop and negotiate loyalty programs/benefits as and when appropriate

Trade Liaison

• Maintaining relationships as may be required and follow up on new leads generated by the team/local distributor
• Communicate with/generate new leads as and when needed
• Communicate with our local distributor on admistrative requests
• Assist/arrange trade events for trade visits and ad hoc tastings

Administrative & Reporting
Reporting is done on a monthly basis:

• Database Maintenance & Growth Report
• Platinum & Gold Report
• Corporate & Concierge Report
• Trade visits & feedback Report

Interview process
• Screening round and mini project (per invitation)
• A first Interview with shortlisted candidates
• Second interview with final candidates
