We have unique opportunities for an Experienced Sous Chef / Senior CDP and a Junior Pastry Chef to join an upmarket Estate in Paarl.

The positions require a creative and a hands-on approach to food production and cooking.

We are looking for individuals with a stable track record, who cares about guest experiences with a passion for cooking and hospitality. Strong leadership skills essential with the ability to liaise with customers. Experience in a high-end, bistro-style restaurant environment preferred.

Valid driver’s licence and own reliable transport beneficial.

The key roles for the Sous Chef / Snr CDP will be to assist the Chef Patron with the daily kitchen operations and activities. The Junior Pastry Chef will assist the pastry team with daily pâtisserie preparation and production.

Position Requirements and Key Duties:

• A formal Culinary Education

• Minimum of 3 -5 years‘ experience in a high-end restaurant environment

• Assist with menu planning and costing recipes, food consumption, strict stock controls, stock management, stock movement, rotation and ordering and supplier liaison

• Excellent control of food cost, wastage and kitchen preparation

• Ongoing staff training and development
