Assistant Financial Controller - Franschhoek

We are looking for an Assistant Financial Controller to join our dynamic team.

• Assist in development and implementation of internal controls relative to accounting entities
• Assists in the coordination of information to external auditors for annual audit processes
• Electronic file maintenance for proper audit documentation
• Ensure that all internal control procedures are strictly adhered to and communicate any perceived weakness to the Director, Financial Controller
• Ensure timeliness and accuracy
• Ensuring all accounting practices are in compliance with legal guidelines and established accounting principles
• Identifying solutions to discrepancies in financial records
• Learn how to use our company IT tools
• Prepare, reconcile and monitor customer reconciliations
• Prepare, reconcile and monitor diesel reconciliations
• Processing of bank reconciliation and petty cash
• Review and approve journal entries and account reconciliations
• Support Financial Controller with Business Controllership Framework - ensure financial data integrity
• To monitor, supervise and prepare month-end income statement and balance sheet account reconciliation and analysis
• Working with the financial team to create internal controls and policies
• Background in the wine industry will be advantageous
• SARS Excise background will be advantageous
