Position Purpose:
As a Forklift Driver/General Warehouse Assistant, your primary responsibilities include contributing to the smooth operation of the warehouse, ensuring efficient receiving, dispatching, reworking stock, order preparations, inventory control and maintaining a safe and well-organized work environment.
Requirements:
- Grade 10 or equivalent.
- Minimum 1 years’ experience in general warehouse duties.
- Valid forklift licence and a minimum of two years’ experience operating a forklift.
- Time-Management skills.
- Attention to detail.
- Basic Mathematics abilities.
- Team player with a positive attitude.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Own transport is required.
Responsibilities:
- Receiving and Dispatching:
- Assist with shipping and receiving as well as loading and off-loading of trucks.
- Collaborate with the team to ensure accurate and timely dispatching of goods.
- Apply quality control procedures to ensure accurate preparation, dispatch and receiving of orders.
- Reworking of Stock:
- Apply correct export labels as per the order, ensuring compliance with the shipping requirements.
- Rework damaged stock to restore it to the required quality standards.
- Order Preparations:
- Process order requests accurately and efficiently.
- Utilize organisational standards to pack boxes and pallets, ensuring items are secure for transit.
- Place orders in designated delivery areas for timely dispatch.
- Labelling and Bottling:
- Assist on the labelling and bottling line, when required, whilst maintaining quality and efficiency.
- Inventory Control:
- Work collaboratively with others to maintain accurate inventory records.
- Ensure stock is appropriately placed in designated areas.
- Report any unauthorized removal of stock promptly to prevent discrepancies.
- Health and Safety:
- Maintain a safe and clean environment by actively participating in cleaning duties, stock-taking and repacking of orders.
- Organize shelves, pallet areas, and workstations for optimal orderliness.
- Wear the required safety equipment and encourage adherence to safety protocols.
- General Duties:
- Assist in other departments as needed, demonstrating flexibility and eagerness to assist.
- Collaborate with the team to implement process improvements for increased efficiency.
- Operate warehouse equipment such as glue guns, pallet wrapping, pallet jacks.
