Seeking Tasting Room Manager

A Wine Farm in the Franschhoek area seeks to employ an excellent candidate to take up the position of  Tasting Room Manager

We are looking for an honest, hardworking and reliable candidate with strong interpersonal skills, to be appointed in the above mentioned position.

Duties include:

• Sales and administration
• Welcoming guests
• Reservation management
• In charge of Stock Control
• Assists in co-ordination of all tasting room events
• Conducts wine tastings according to SOP’s and tasting room training manual
• Calculates daily inventory on Navision
• Conducts and checks daily and weekly stock counts
• Ensures that stock counts are balanced, and where necessary accounts for any discrepancies in stock, finding solutions accordingly
• Creates promotional documents as required for sales and marketing related tastings, functions and events.
• Managing day to day operations of the tasting room
• Liaising with guests / tour guides / suppliers /clients

Requirements:

• Excellent telephone manner
• Previous managerial work experience in a tasting room  ( 2-3 years experience)
• A sound knowledge of wine, Preliminary Cape Wine Academy Courses is compulsory, or similar wine courses
• Strong administration skills
• Good communication skills
• Must be able to work well in a team environment
• Coordination skill and excellent customer service skills
• Fluent in both English & Afrikaans ( 3^rd language beneficial )
• Grade 12 & Hospitality Certificate or Diploma
• Computer literate – Excel , Pos Systems
• Must be willing to work weekends, flexible hours and have own transport

Start date: Nov/Dec 2024

Salary: Market related
