My client, a well-established, national catering company has a vacancy for a Chef with a minimum of 3 years of catering experience to join the Catering Division in Franschhoek
The successful candidate must be organised, self-motivated, creative, and reliable individual who is able to work independently and with precision under pressure.
Requirements:
- Exceptional culinary skills required
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Chef
- Tertiary qualification relevant to the industry
- Previous catering experience in the upmarket Hospitality sector advantageous
- Be able to train and develop Kitchen staff
- Strong presentation skills
- Ability to build and maintain a motivated team in a dynamic environment
- Previous experience in Education sector would be advantageous but not essential
- Own transport and a valid driver’s license
Duties will include but not limited to:
- To ensure meals, functions and menus are up to standard and in line with the budget
- Source quality local ingredients
- Oversee quality and portion control
- Food cost Management
- Have and excellent palate and cooking skills
- To ensure the company image is projected through excellent client relationships, quality of service, product, and productivity
- Understand and implement company standards, policies, and procedures in line with legislation
- Ensure Quality Control is in accordance with the Company standards
