My client, a well-established, national catering company has a vacancy for a Chef with a minimum of 3 years of catering experience to join the Catering Division in Franschhoek

The successful candidate must be organised, self-motivated, creative, and reliable individual who is able to work independently and with precision under pressure.

Requirements:

  • Exceptional culinary skills required
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Chef
  • Tertiary qualification relevant to the industry
  • Previous catering experience in the upmarket Hospitality sector advantageous
  • Be able to train and develop Kitchen staff
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Ability to build and maintain a motivated team in a dynamic environment
  • Previous experience in Education sector would be advantageous but not essential
  • Own transport and a valid driver’s license

Duties will include but not limited to:

  • To ensure meals, functions and menus are up to standard and in line with the budget
  • Source quality local ingredients
  • Oversee quality and portion control
  • Food cost Management
  • Have and excellent palate and cooking skills
  • To ensure the company image is projected through excellent client relationships, quality of service, product, and productivity
  • Understand and implement company standards, policies, and procedures in line with legislation
  • Ensure Quality Control is in accordance with the Company standards
