Event Coordinator and Communications (Social Media) Manager

We are looking for an experienced and vibrant professional with event experience, strong copy skills, and digital creative experience. You will be responsible for creating, improving and maintaining content to build brand awareness and achieve our business goals. Applicants from Johannesburg and Cape Town (possible hybrid role) will be considered. Your duties will include the following:

 Event Management

  • Plan and execute events and special activities including overseeing the organising and liaison with all parties involved, and the roll out of digital assets and campaigns that make the event a success.

 Digital Copy

  • A large part of your role will be communicating partner brand copy on our various platforms and web pages in a way that fits our corporate identity and communication tools well established by the company.
  • Content writing for digital spaces i.e. product brochures, eBooks, newsletters, web pages, articles, flyers, etc.
  • Curate content with excellent spelling and grammar.
  • Maintain Company website content.
  • Liaising with different stakeholder groups and businesses through various communication channels.

 Digital Content

  • Brief and work with the companies designer accordingly for all digital content creation including web pages, social media, newsletter mailers and several other digital platforms.
  • Plan and execute the required digital campaigns using the digital content creation including integrating and broadcasting through the various communication channels.

 Social Media & Communication Platforms

  • Create and maintain digital content calendar schedules including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube and others. Ensure schedules are up to date, approved and posts scheduled well ahead of time.
  • Managing Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn pages including responding to queries and monitoring customer reviews, ensuring brand consistency, increasing market reach, building loyalty and trust.
  • Social Media and Digital Content Creators should be comfortable finding creative ways of building an online presence, as well as using analytics in the formulation of a content strategy. Here, content is defined as multimedia articles, blog posts, images or videos that aid in fostering engagement online.
  • Create newsletter mailers using the companies standard templates in Mailchimp.
  • Overlook all web pages and websites from a user perspective to ensure the companies exacting standards are being met. Correct copy and navigation ensure a professional image and excellent user experience.
  • Reaching out and working with the right media and publications to ensure good PR and exposure.

Content will always have a final approval and filter by the company’s spirit experts and/or management.

Minimum requirements:

  • Post graduate degree in Communications
  • At least 2 years’ experience within a Communications and Events management role
  • Proven excellent copywriting, communications and presentation skills
  • Strong technical skills in content creation
  • Excellent ability to identify key initiative and demonstrate a sense of urgency
