Chemical Analyst - Fixed Term Contract

A Fixed Term Contractual Position (5 Months) has become vacant at Vredendal Winery, reporting to the Quality Manager. The Contract will be from 03 February 2025 until 30 June 2025. The overall purpose of this position will be to perform routine chemical analyses, report results, and recordkeeping of the aforementioned according to the ISO 17025 standard.

Minimum Requirements:

• B Sc., B Tech or Higher National Diploma with relevant subjects.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office – Microsoft Word, Excel.
• No criminal record.
• Own reliable transport and a valid Driver’s Licence are required.
• Previous working experience in a Wine Laboratory will be of advantage to this application.

Key areas of responsibility will include:

• Pre-treatment of samples for analysis.
• Accurate preparation of standard stock and quality control solutions according to procedures.
• Ensure calibration and verification checks are performed on laboratory instruments according to schedules and SOPs and report non-conformity.
• All recordkeeping to analyses performed.
• Upkeeping of Laboratory hygiene, and housekeeping.
• Be able to work accurately and according to structured requirements and procedures.
• Be organized and detail orientated.
