We are looking for a passionate barman to join our team.
Position Overview:
Skilled and passionate Barman with have a strong knowledge of beverages, particularly wines, and mixology, along with excellent customer service skills. In this role, you will not only craft drinks but also assist with stock management, event support, and budget operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and serve a variety of beverages, including cocktails, wines, and non-alcoholic drinks, with a focus on quality and presentation.
- Maintain an organized and fully stocked bar area, ensuring all equipment is clean and functional.
- Conduct regular stock takes, monitor inventory levels, and assist in ordering supplies as needed.
- Collaborate with the management team to track budget operations and ensure cost-effective beverage management.
- Assist in planning and executing events, including tastings, private parties, and special occasions, ensuring all beverage needs are met.
- Provide excellent customer service, engaging with guests and offering recommendations based on their preferences.
- Stay informed about new trends in beverages and mixology, as well as updates on the wine offerings from the farm.
- Uphold all health and safety regulations in the bar and restaurant environment.
- Work closely with waitstaff to ensure seamless service during busy periods.
- Operate Coffee machinery and inform Manager of any low or out of stock items
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a bartender, preferably in a fine dining or winery setting.
- Strong knowledge of wines, cocktails, and beverage pairings.
- WSET and Cape Wine Academy Accreditation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Basic math skills for managing inventory and budgeting.
- Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
