Skilled sales driven wine tasting ambassador needed

About the Role:

We are seeking a passionate and results-oriented Tasting Room Ambassador to join our dynamic team at our bustling tasting room in Franschhoek. The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated and customer-focused individual with a genuine love for wine.

Key Responsibilities:

• Wine Expertise: Deeply knowledgeable about our wines, including varietals, vintages, and tasting notes.
• Exceptional Customer Service: Provide warm, professional, and engaging service to all visitors.
• Sales Achievement: Consistently meet and exceed monthly sales targets through proactive sales techniques and a customer-centric approach.
• Presentation & Professionalism: Maintain a polished and professional demeanor, ensuring a clean and inviting tasting room environment.
• Teamwork & Leadership: Foster a positive and respectful work environment by leading by example, demonstrating honesty, and reliability.
• Operational Excellence: Perform daily tasting room duties, including conducting tastings, restocking wine, glass washing, inventory checks, and assisting with kitchen duties.
• Technology Proficiency: Familiarity with Point of Sale (POS) systems (Pilot preferred) is a plus.

Qualifications:

• Experience: Minimum 12 months of experience in a fast-paced hospitality environment (waitressing, tasting room, etc.)
• Wine Knowledge: Strong passion for wine with a solid understanding of key varietals, winemaking regions, etc.
• Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, strong organizational and time-management abilities.
• Education: Formal wine education (WSET, CWA) is highly preferred.
• Other Requirements:
  • 18 years of age or older
  • Willingness to work weekends and flexible shifts
  • Ability to lift and carry cases of wine
  • Reliable transportation and the ability to commute to Franschhoek
