We are looking for a knowledgeable and passionate Wine Sommelier and Tasting Room Ambassador to join our growing team. This role involves creating exceptional tasting experiences for guests, sharing the story behind our wines, and driving sales through engaging customer interactions.

Key Responsibilities

Tasting Room Experiences:

  • Host wine tastings for guests, providing an immersive and educational experience.
  • Share the history, winemaking process, and unique characteristics of the wines with enthusiasm and expertise.
  • Offer tailored wine recommendations based on guests’ preferences and tasting notes.

Sales and Customer Engagement:

  • Promote and sell wines directly to guests in the tasting room and during events.
  • Build relationships with guests to encourage repeat visits and future purchases.

Wine Education and Training:

  • Stay up-to-date on the wine portfolio, including production techniques, vineyard practices, and tasting profiles.
  • Provide training and guidance to tasting room staff to ensure consistent and high-quality customer service.

Events and Brand Representation:

  • Assist in planning and hosting wine-related events, including private tastings, food and wine pairings, and promotional activities.
  • Represent the brand at external wine events, showcasing its uniqueness and quality.

Stock and Tasting Room Management:

  • Maintain the cleanliness, organization, and presentation of the tasting room.
  • Manage inventory for the tasting room, including wine, glassware, and promotional materials.
  • Ensure compliance with liquor regulations and tasting room policies.

Reporting and Feedback:

  • Collect and report customer feedback to help improve the tasting room experience.
  • Provide insights on best-selling wines and customer preferences to support sales strategies.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Certification as a sommelier and extensive knowledge of wine, with a passion for the industry.
  • Previous experience in a tasting room, hospitality, or wine sales role.
  • Excellent communication and storytelling skills with a warm, engaging personality.
  • Strong sales skills and the ability to upsell wine and wine-related products.
  • Ability to work weekends, holidays, and flexible hours as required.
  • Proficiency in handling point-of-sale systems and maintaining accurate records.

  • This is an on-site role with the opportunity to interact directly with guests and wine enthusiasts.
  • Training on the specific wine portfolio and brand values will be provided.
  • The position is commission-based.
