Piet van Heerde is a FGASA-qualified Tour Guide, Field Guide, and Marine Guide with more than 20 years of experience.
His incredible knowledge of backroads throughout the Western and Northern Cape, combined with his deep passion for desert areas, makes him an exceptional guide. As he often says, “There is so much more to be learned from the unseen; there’s so much life out there.”
Previously recognized as the Tourist Guide of the Year for Northern Cape Province, Piet possesses extensive knowledge of plant species throughout his areas of expertise. A walk with him along the rocky and sandy shores becomes an exciting adventure filled with fascinating insights.
An avid bird watcher, Piet has led numerous birding and photography tours. Above all, he is a lovable person with excellent interpersonal skills who ensures every tour is both educational and enjoyable.
