Job Summary
The Food and Beverage Manager is responsible for overseeing all food and beverage operations at the wine estate, ensuring exceptional guest experiences, efficient management of resources, and alignment with the estate’s brand and vision. This role combines strategic planning, team leadership, and hands-on management to deliver excellence in hospitality services, wine tastings, events, and culinary offerings.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Management
- Plan, organize, and oversee daily food and beverage operations, including the restaurant, tasting rooms, and event services.
- Ensure all operations meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and customer satisfaction.
- Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for all F&B areas.
- Responsible to issue wines to all Hospitality departments.
Guest Experience
- Deliver an exceptional guest experience that reflects the estate’s brand and values.
- Collaborate with culinary and winery teams to create memorable food and wine pairings.
- Manage customer feedback and resolve any issues promptly and professionally.
Team Leadership
- Recruit, train, and manage F&B staff, including waitstaff, sommeliers, chefs, and bartenders.
- Foster a positive work environment, ensuring staff motivation and high performance.
- Conduct regular staff meetings and training sessions to enhance service standards.
Financial Management
- Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and financial goals for the F&B department.
- Monitor costs and implement strategies to maximize profitability.
- Oversee inventory control for food, beverages, and supplies, minimizing waste and losses.
Collaboration and Innovation
- Work closely with the winemaking team to align F&B offerings with the estate's wine portfolio.
- Design innovative menus, wine pairings, and guest experiences.
- Support marketing efforts, including promoting events, special menus, and seasonal offerings.
Compliance
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and licensing regulations.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in all areas.
Key Requirements
- Education: Degree/Diploma in Hospitality Management, Culinary Arts, or related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years in a managerial role within the hospitality or wine industry.
