Robertson Winery has an exciting career opportunity for a Financial Accountant to join their team based in Robertson (Western Cape).

The incumbent will be responsible for: *Supporting the Financial Manager with financial strategies & objectives *Ensuring timely & accurate financial records & reports *Optimising general ledger and reporting *Tracking expenses, cost control, optimizing and driving cost efficiencies *Monthly reconciliation pertaining to control accounts, balance sheets, & income statements *Tax calculations and optimization, and timely submission of statutory and tax returns *Monthly submission and payment of VAT, EMP, & Excise duties returns to SARS, with relevant reconciliations *Assisting Financial Manager with budget preparation *Budgeting, reviewing, analysing, and discussing with department heads to ensure alignment with strategic objectives *Taking responsibility for audits (financial and BBBEE) *Preparation of annual financial statements *Approving payments & overseeing payment controls *Monitoring cash flow & reporting on balances *Maintaining and enhancing financial controls *Leading accounting & accounts payable staff *Liaison with external auditors, bankers and financial institutions *Managing bulk wine suppliers *Recordkeeping of bulk wine contracts, payment terms, and delivery of bulk for cashflow management *Ensuring correct systems for bulk wine GRN & pricing *Reconciling bulk blends with stock on hand & stock movements *Overseeing fixed asset register *Assisting with month-end & year-end closing *Ad-hoc administrative duties as required.

Minimum requirements:

• BCom degree in Accounting, Finance, or relevant field (NQF level 8), with completed articles (SAIPA, SAICA OR CIMA articles preferred);

• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role with completed articles;

• Advanced knowledge of accounting principles & practices, and financial reporting up to financial statement level;

• Excellent communication skills (Afrikaans & English);

• Strong computer literacy (MS Office & relevant accounting software, SYSPRO advantageous);

• Registration as Charted Accountant and knowledge of IFRS will be advantageous.
