This person would form part of the Wine Tasting Team to focus on being a customer service liaison within the various wine tasting outlets on the farm, to educate and assist the customer and to ensure high service standards. To assist with all administrative and operational duties to run the various wine tasting outlets on the farm.
Reporting directly to the Wine Tasting Manager
Key duties & Responsibilities:
- Conduct and participate in performing memorable world class wine tasting experiences
- Lead, guide, coach and be amongst the team.
- Conduct and participate in overall inventory controls, principles and orders for all wine tasting outlets.
- Conduct opening and closing procedures which include locking and securing of buildings
- Ensuring shelve inventory is up to par, neat, accurately labelled, barcoded and priced.
- Accurate execution of daily handovers, cash-ups and cash drops.
- Develop trustful and professional relationships with staff, management, vendors and guests for recurring business
- Supervise employee orientation, monitor employee performance, assisting with drafting up of monthly employee work schedules.
- Assist with Point of System (POS) systems to ensure that inventory is up to date.
- Make sure that all wine tasting outlets and equipment is always clean, hygienic and safe for colleagues and guests.
- Allocation of daily staff breaks sections, bookings and duties
- Completion of wine order waybills
- Accurate daily filling
- Handle all equipment and wine tasting products accurately to avoid any revenue lost, down time and best standards of products.
- Correct disposal and documentation of products that are no longer suitable for sale and record and report all breakages, wastage and maintenance issues.
- Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of all offerings within the Estate and wine tasting offerings
- Proactively participates in own development
- Ensure that all required preparation has been done for the next day’s business.
- Act in accordance with the Boschendal code of conduct when performing one’s job.

Required Experience and Qualifications:
- Matric
- Minimum 2-3 years’ experience in Events or Hospitality industry
- Wine tasting room experience
- Front or Back of house experience
- WSET 2 or Cape Wine Academy Certificate
